Dear Burger lovers out there, if you want to expand your horizon, you need to give this Asian Pork Burger with Sriracha Mayo a try. I came up with this recipe one day when my husband mentioned he wanted a burger. I guess I cooked too many ‘foo foo’ stuff and he just wanted to go back to the basics. After all you can take the burger out of the boy but you can’t take the boy out of the burger. ha! 🙂 I’m craving Asian food and he’s craving a burger so I think this is a perfect marriage. So, here I am sharing my Asian Pork Burger with Sriracha Mayo recipe with you.
Let’s cook some food!
I used less fat ground pork, you can use any ground meat, beef, chicken or even turkey. In a bowl, mix the ground pork with minced garlic, Oyster Sauce, Fish Sauce, Golden Mountain Seasoning Sauce (or light soy sauce), sugar, pepper, and chopped chives. Green onions can be substitute for chives if you don’t have it but you might want to use less because they are stronger.
Here they are… the Asian elements.
Divide it into 4 (I used 1 pound of ground pork and it makes 4 burgers). Make the patties and set aside.
Start the grill.
While waiting for the grill, make the secret spread. It’s Sriracha mayo! My husband said we should call it Mayoracha. I think that’s cute. 🙂
Mix Sriracha Sauce with mayo in a small bowl. That’s all it is and you can use less if you don’t want it to be too spicy.
Once the grill is ready (our infrared grill temperature read 700 F), put the burgers on the grill. To test the heat, wave your hand 8 inches above the burner. Move quickly, if the grill is at its proper heat you will not be able to hold your hand above the burner for more than 2 or 3 seconds. When you put the burgers down, you will hear the sizzling sound which is the beautiful sound for grilling.
Grill about 4-5 minutes on each side. Mmmmm… the smell of these Asian Pork Burger is resistible!
Take out the burgers and let them rest on a plate.
Butter your buns. I used potato buns which is my husband’s favorite. I was thinking pretzel buns would be awesome too, if you can find them.
Grill one side of the buns for a minute or two, until you see the grill marks.
Flip them and put sliced cheese on top. Take them out of the grill once the cheese starts melting.
Now, it’s time to assemble the Asian Pork Burgers. I like sliced tomatoes and lettuce. You can put whatever you like on your burgers, just don’t forget to spread both sides of the buns with the yummy Sriracha mayo.
