What to bring to a game day party? Try this warm Sage Sausage and Cream Cheese Dip with some veggies and chips. It is creamy, spicy, and so addictive. There are literally 3 ingredients (sage sausage, cream cheese and Rotel diced tomatoes with habaneros or just tomatoes if you don’t like it spicy). You won’t believe how easy it is, from scale 1-10, probably a one. And everyone has a pan and a crockpot, right? Yup, everyone, except me 10 years ago. I always had pots and pans but not the crockpot. My first crockpot was donated to me by my co-workers 10 years ago. I didn’t grow up here and we don’t really use crockpot in Thailand believe it or not. We use our rice cooker daily but not a crockpot. Whoever invented it was a genius and thank you again my x-coworkers, you know who you are. It’s been through every pot-luck parties in my life.
I’d like to call this recipe Earl’s famous Sage Sausage and Cream Cheese Dip.
Who’s Earl? He’s my lovely husband who loves football and claims that he doesn’t cook. I have to give a 100% credit to him because he introduced me to this dip. I was skeptical at first, just like every other control freak cook in the kitchen. ha ha. But with open heart and mind, I ‘let’ him make it one time for a party and it changed my life and my view of the dip. The leftover is also good next day as you can use it as a base for sausage and gravy on biscuits. If you ever have any leftover which in our case, it only happened once just because we made this Sage Sausage and Cream Cheese dip for just the two of us not for the party.
Let’s cook some food!
Here are the three ingredients.
First, brown sage sausage in a pan. I’m using my handy dandy cast iron skillet.
Drain off the excess grease.
In a crockpot, on high heat, add the sausage and cream cheese.
Drain Rotel diced tomatoes with habaneros, add it to the pot.
Stir gently until everything is combined. You can see that I am lining my crockpot with the crockpot liner. Yes, another genius came up with this. It makes clean-up super easy. Take it out an dump it when you’re done.
Lower the heat to low. Serve warm with some veggies and chips.
How easy was that? I promise you, this will be a hit at any parties you attend. I hope you give this warm Sage Sausage and Cream Cheese Dip a try. Happy 4th everyone!
